I'm writing this just a few days after the 24-hour race for LGBT+ Hinckley was completed. each driver was in the driving seat for 8 hours and drove a combined total of 3092 miles. You will be pleased to hear that we have now all fully recovered and back to our day jobs.
First of all, I'd like to thank you all for helping us raise so much. At the time of writing, you have helped us raise a total of £522. So many of you gave so generously too and we are so very grateful and a thank you also to those who were unable to donate but were able to share our Just giving page on their social media. You can still donate on our just giving page until midnight on August 31st, 2020. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/lgbthinckley
Secondly, I'd like to thank the drivers who gave up their weekends to help drive and get the car across the line. But I'm sure they would much rather have been racing here and only having a couple of hours nap on the sofa than being stuck at home painting fence panels. The drivers also brought some memorable moments which have been recorded and I'll have to make a highlights video of the race containing them all in such as 'Wedding Reception DJ' and 'My eyes feel like a peacock in the wind' come to mind. Without these guys, this event couldn't have happened, who knows we may do something again in the future!
and finally, trying to not make this sound like an acceptance speech at an awards ceremony. But I'll also like to thank our event sponsors. They kept our drivers fed throughout the event. So a big thank you to Ponchinellos, Stottie Shop, and Dominos Pizza. We now have a lot of calories to burn off but thank you.
